cmWhen you are coached by me, here are the things I believe...

  • There is no such thing as hopeless. Anyone can change.
  • Relapse is an indicator not a failure.
  • Addiction is not a sign of weakness. It is a neurochemical, biological, psychosocial, and spiritual problem.
  • 12-Step programs are highly effective though not for everyone. There are other support systems available if the 12-Step program is not for you.
  • Recovery is not a philosophy but a program of action that must include changes in thinking as well as behaviors.
  • Abstinence is not enough. Some kind of ongoing recovery/counseling support is needed to heal.
  • Substances and addictive behaviors are the solution not the problem. Untreated emotional pain, and problems of living are the problem.
  • Untreated emotional pain and interpersonal conflicts are the biggest reasons why people relapse or are unhappy in sobriety.
  • Anxiety is easily treatable without mood-altering medications.
  • Emotional pain is easily treatable without having to drudge up the past.
  • Permanent healing occurs only
  • Person everyone also reimbursement pretty when the deepest issue is identified and resolved.
  • Change in perception is the most successful kind of change
